Redpoint, known as An Rubha Dearg in Scottish Gaelic, is a small village in the northwest of Highland, Scotland. It gets its name from a nearby area called Red Point. This Red Point is a low piece of land that sticks out into the sea. It marks where the coastline changes direction, leading towards Loch Torridon.

Where is Redpoint?
Redpoint is located about 10 miles (16 kilometers) southwest of Gairloch. You can reach it by following the B8056 road until it ends.
From a path near the road, you can find a special viewpoint. On a clear day, you might see almost the entire northeastern coast of the Isle of Skye. It's a great spot for taking photos!
Nearby Villages
As you travel along the B8056 coast road, you will find other small villages. These include South Erradale, Opinan, and Port Henderson. They are all located north of Redpoint.
Redpoint in Music
Did you know that Redpoint has even inspired music? The Scottish electronic music band Boards of Canada released an album called Geogaddi in 2002. One of the songs on this album is titled "The Beach at Redpoint."
