Reema Abdo (born May 19, 1963) is a Canadian swimmer who won an Olympic bronze medal. She was born in Aden, a city in what was then called the Federation of South Arabia. Later, she became a Canadian citizen.

Reema's Swimming Journey
Reema Abdo started swimming when she was 12 years old. This was in Kingston, Ontario. In 1976, her family moved to Trenton, Ontario. There, she joined the Trenton Dolphin Swim Club. Her coach, George Sulk, helped her train and get better.
National Success
During her swimming career, Reema won many national medals. She earned 14 medals in total. Seven of these were gold, four were silver, and three were bronze. All of these medals were for her best swimming style, the backstroke. In 1984, she held the Canadian record. This was for the short course 100-metre and 200-metre backstroke races.
Representing Canada
Reema swam for Canada in many big competitions. She competed in the USSR-Germany-Canada Tri-meet. She also went to the Commonwealth Games and the World University Games. She swam at the Pan Pacific Championships.
Her biggest competition was the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. There, she won a bronze medal. This was in the 4 × 100 m medley relay race. Her teammates were Anne Ottenbrite, Michelle MacPherson, and Pamela Rai.

Life After Swimming
After her excellent swimming career, Reema Abdo became a coach. She coached swimmers for several years. She worked with younger age-group swimmers and university teams. She still lives an active life today. She competes in triathlons and long-distance running races. Reema Abdo is also a member of the Ontario Provincial Police. She works out of Prince Edward.
