Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp (Afrikaans: [ˈstiəŋkamp]; born August 19, 1983 – died February 14, 2013) was a South African model and a paralegal. A paralegal is someone who helps lawyers with legal work.
She was well-known as the first face of Avon cosmetics in South Africa. Reeva also worked as a presenter for FashionTV in South Africa. She appeared in many TV commercials for brands like Toyota Land Cruiser and Redds. In 2012, she was a celebrity on the BBC Lifestyle show Baking Made Easy. She also starred in Tropika Island of Treasure season 5, which aired in February 2013.

Early Life and Education
Reeva Steenkamp was born in Cape Town, South Africa. Her father, Barry Steenkamp, was a horse trainer. Her mother, June, was born in England. Reeva had two older half-siblings.
Her family later moved to Port Elizabeth. There, she went to St Dominic's Priory School. After school, she studied law at the University of Port Elizabeth. She earned her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2005. This university is now part of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
Career Highlights
After finishing university, Reeva Steenkamp worked as both a paralegal and a model. She wanted to become a qualified legal advocate, which is a type of lawyer, by the time she was 30 years old.
Modeling Career
Reeva started modeling when she was 14 years old. In 2004, she was a finalist in the Weekend Post Faces of the Future competition. The next year, she was also a finalist in the Herald Miss Port Elizabeth contest.
She became the first official face for Avon cosmetics in South Africa. She also modeled for Sivana Diamonds, a jewelry company. Her favorite fashion designer was Marc Jacobs.
Television Appearances
Reeva Steenkamp was a live presenter for FashionTV in South Africa. She appeared in many TV commercials for different products. These included Toyota Land Cruiser, Clover "The One", Redds, and Aldor Pin Pop.
In 2012, she was a celebrity guest on the BBC Lifestyle show Baking Made Easy. At the time of her death, Reeva had already filmed episodes for season five of the reality TV show Tropika Island of Treasure in Jamaica. The show started airing on February 16, 2013, just two days after she passed away. The first episode was dedicated to her memory.
Personal Interests
Reeva Steenkamp loved horse riding. However, she had a serious fall in her early twenties that broke her back. She had to learn how to walk again after the accident.

Tragic Passing
On February 14, 2013, which was Valentine's Day, Reeva Steenkamp died in Pretoria, South Africa. Her body was cremated in Port Elizabeth on February 19, 2013.
