A Look Inside and Its History

The Regency Cafe opened in 1946 on Regency Street in London. It's located near the areas of Westminster and Pimlico. The cafe was bought by new owners, Antonio Perotti and Gino Schiavetta, in 1986. Today, Antonio's daughter, Claudia, and Gino's son, Marco, run the cafe.

The inside of the cafe still has its original wall tiles. The tables are newer and have Formica tops. You can also see photos of Tottenham Hotspur football players decorating the walls. The whole place keeps its cool art deco look.

Famous Filming Spot

The Regency Cafe is a popular place for filming! It has been seen in many BBC TV shows. These include Judge John Deed, Rescue Me, and London Spy.

It has also appeared in several movies. Some of these films are Layer Cake, Brighton Rock, Pride, and Rocketman. The cafe has even been featured in the Japanese version of Vogue magazine and in a Volkswagen car advertisement.

What's on the Menu?

The Regency Cafe serves classic food you would find in a British cafe. For breakfast, you can get traditional items like eggs, bacon, sausages, and beans. They also have newer choices like eggs Benedict and hash browns.

The tea served here is very famous. A writer for The Daily Telegraph newspaper described it as "Proper builders’ tea". This is a strong, dark tea that was once popular with workers in factories and steelworks across Britain. Other popular items include homemade steak pie and chips.
