On May 5, 1999, Renata made history. She became the first woman from both Sweden and the Czech Republic to climb Mount Everest. Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in the world. This was a huge achievement for her. It showed her incredible strength and determination.
The "Around America Adventure"
Between 2005 and 2006, Renata took on a massive challenge. She called it the "Around America Adventure." She traveled around the lower 48 states of the United States. Her journey involved both kayaking and bicycling.
Renata started by paddling a kayak from Seattle to San Diego. Then, she put her kayak on a special carriage. She bicycled with it all the way from San Diego to Brownsville, Texas. After that, she got back in her kayak. She paddled around Florida to Eastport, Maine. Finally, she bicycled back to Seattle. She was the first person to travel around 32 states using only a bicycle and a kayak. This incredible journey showed her amazing endurance.
A Special Connection
Renata was engaged to another famous climber, Göran Kropp. He was also a very skilled adventurer. Sadly, Göran passed away in a climbing accident. Renata continues to honor his memory through her own adventures.
