Richards is a small village located in the state of Missouri, in the United States. It is found in the northwest part of Vernon County. In 2020, the village had a population of 43 people.

History of Richards
Richards was officially started in 1891. This happened when a railroad line was built through the area. The village was named to honor Joseph Harvey Richards, who was an important person involved with the railroad company. A local post office had actually opened in Richards even earlier, in 1890.
Where is Richards Located?
Richards is located along Missouri Route H. Another nearby town, Stotesbury, is about four miles north if you take Missouri Route Z. The city of Nevada is about eleven miles to the southeast. The border between Missouri and Kansas is only three miles to the west of Richards.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village covers a total area of about 0.27 square miles (0.70 square kilometers). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large bodies of water within the village limits.
