Richards is a village in northwest Vernon County, Missouri, United States. The population was 96 at the 2010 census.

History
Richards was laid out and platted in 1891 when the railroad was extended to that point. The village's name honors Joseph Harvey Richards, a railroad official. A post office has been in operation at Richards since 1890.
Geography
Richards is located on Missouri Route H. Stotesbury is approximately four miles to the north via Missouri Route Z and Nevada is eleven miles to the southeast. The Missouri-Kansas border is three miles to the west.

2010 census
As of the census of 2010, there were 96 people, 36 households, and 27 families living in the village. The population density was 355.6 inhabitants per square mile (137.3/km2). There were 44 housing units at an average density of 163.0 per square mile (62.9/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 95.8% White and 4.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.0% of the population.
There were 36 households, of which 38.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.8% were married couples living together, 19.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 25.0% were non-families. 22.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.11.
The median age in the village was 32 years. 29.2% of residents were under the age of 18; 8.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 22.9% were from 25 to 44; 22% were from 45 to 64; and 17.7% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 52.1% male and 47.9% female.
