Where Does the Water Come From?

The main source of water flowing into Riley Lake is a stream called Green's Creek. This creek enters the lake from the northeast side. Lakes like Riley Lake are constantly getting fresh water from streams and rivers that flow into them.

Where Does the Water Go?

Water also flows out of Riley Lake. The main outflow is Riley Creek, which starts at the south end of the lake. Riley Creek then flows into the Black River. From there, the water travels down the Severn River until it reaches Georgian Bay. Georgian Bay is a large bay on Lake Huron, one of the five Great Lakes. So, the water from Riley Lake eventually makes its way into the Great Lakes system!
