Riley Creek is a small waterway, also known as a stream, located in the middle part of Ontario, Canada. It is part of the larger Great Lakes Basin, which means its waters eventually flow into the Great Lakes.
This creek starts its journey at Riley Lake. This lake is found in a place called Ryde Township, which is near the town of Gravenhurst in the District Municipality of Muskoka. From there, Riley Creek flows south.
The creek ends when it joins the Black River. It enters the Black River from the right side. This meeting point is in Dalton Township, which is part of the city of Kawartha Lakes. The Black River then flows into the Severn River, and the Severn River eventually reaches Georgian Bay. Georgian Bay is a large part of Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes.
A Home in the Wildlands
A big part of Riley Creek, about 80%, flows through a special protected area. This area is called Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park. This park helps keep the natural environment safe for plants and animals.
