Rio Vista is found in the southern part of Johnson County. A main road, Texas State Highway 174, runs along the west side of the city. This highway can take you north about 8 miles (13 km) to Cleburne, which is the main city of the county. If you go southwest about 30 miles (48 km), you'll reach Meridian.
