Robbie Tallas: His Hockey Journey
Robbie Tallas played 99 games in the NHL. During his time as a player, he won 28 games, lost 42, and had 10 ties.
Since August 2009, Robbie has been a goaltending coach for the Florida Panthers. A goaltending coach helps goalies improve their skills and strategies.
In 2013, Robbie even came out of retirement for one game! He was a backup goalie for the Florida Panthers on March 3. Two years later, on March 3, 2015, something similar happened. Both Panthers goalies got hurt during a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Robbie quickly got ready to be an emergency backup. He warmed up, but one of the original goalies was able to return. So, Robbie didn't have to play in the game. In both cases, he was ready to go but wasn't needed.
Robbie Tallas also helped coach the Italy men's national ice hockey team. This was during the 2019 IIHF World Championship.
In 2024, Robbie Tallas won his first Stanley Cup! He won it as a Goaltending Coach with the Florida Panthers during the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals.
