About Roderick Lake
Roderick Lake is mostly located within the municipality of Muskoka Lakes. Only a small part of its northwest end is in the Georgian Bay municipality.
How Water Flows In and Out
The main stream that flows into Roderick Lake is called Haggart Creek. It enters the lake from the east side. There are also a few smaller streams that flow into the lake, but they don't have names.
Haggart Creek is also the main stream that flows out of Roderick Lake, leaving from the southeast. After leaving the lake, Haggart Creek continues its journey. It eventually flows into the Moon River, which then carries the water all the way to Georgian Bay. Georgian Bay is a large part of Lake Huron, one of the five Great Lakes.
What's Around the Lake?
A major railway line, belonging to the Canadian Pacific Railway, runs along the northeast side of Roderick Lake. There's even a specific spot on this railway line right by the lake called Duffy.
