Rodney Rowe (born March 17, 1997) is an American track and field athlete. He is a sprinter who specializes in the 100-meter and 200-meter races. Rodney went to North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University for college. There, he became a 2-time All-American and won 10 championships in the MEAC. He also attended Clayton High School in Clayton, North Carolina.

Rodney's College Track Career

Rodney Rowe started his college track career in 2015. He received a scholarship to attend North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. He joined the North Carolina A&T Aggies team, coached by Duane Ross.

Freshman Year (2016)

As a freshman, Rodney helped his team win the 4 × 100-meter relay. They set a new record at the 2016 MEAC Championships. Rodney also did well in individual races. He finished 3rd in the 100 meters and 2nd in the 200 meters. His relay team competed at the NCAA Division I Championships, but they did not make it to the finals.

Sophomore Year (2017)

In his second year, Rodney continued to shine. He placed 2nd in both the indoor 60-meter and 200-meter races at the 2017 MEAC Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, Rodney and his teammates won the 4 × 100-meter relay again. They broke their own record from the previous year. Rodney also earned 2nd place in the 200 meters and 5th in the 100 meters.

His 4 × 100-meter relay team qualified for the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships. They ran a very fast time in a qualifying round, which was one of the fastest in NCAA history. In the finals, the team won a bronze medal, finishing 3rd.

Junior Year (2018)

Rodney won his first individual MEAC Championship in his junior year. He won the indoor 200 meters. He also helped his team win the indoor 4 × 100 relay. Rodney placed 3rd in the indoor 60 meters. He and his relay team went to the 2018 NCAA Division I Indoor Championships, but they did not reach the finals.

In the outdoor season, Rodney won the 200 meters and placed 2nd in the 100 meters at the 2018 MEAC Championships. His 4 × 100-meter relay team won their title for the third year in a row. Rodney qualified for the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships in both the 200 meters and the 4 × 100-meter relay. He finished 5th in the 200 meters, earning him a special honor called "first team All-American." His relay team made it to the finals but could not finish the race. By the end of his junior year, Rodney was one of only two athletes from his school to be a 3-time first-team All-American.

Senior Year (2019)

In his final college year, Rodney became the MEAC champion in the indoor 60 meters. He also won his fourth individual MEAC championship by defending his 200-meter title. Rodney competed in the 200 meters at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships, finishing 12th overall.

During the outdoor season, Rodney won the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4 × 100-meter relay titles at the MEAC Outdoor Championships. He set new personal bests in both the 100 meters (10.15 seconds) and the 200 meters (20.12 seconds). His 200-meter time placed him second in the nation.

At the NCAA Division I Championships, Rodney competed in three events. He did not reach the finals in the individual 100-meter and 200-meter races. However, his 4 × 100-meter relay team made it to the finals and finished 5th.

After the NCAA Championships, Rodney represented the United States at the NACAC Championships. He placed 6th in the 100 meters and 4th in the 200 meters. Later, he competed in the 2019 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He made it to the finals of the 200 meters, finishing 7th. This performance earned him an invitation to represent the United States at the 2019 World Athletics Championships. At the World Championships, Rodney ran in his heat but did not qualify for the next round.
