Ronald Butler Jr. is an American actor, director, and comedian. He was born in the Bahamas. Many people know him for playing Oscar, the smart receptionist, on the Nickelodeon TV show True Jackson, VP. This show was on from 2008 to 2011. Ron Butler also often pretends to be former President Barack Obama in funny skits. He has worked with the Atlantic Theater Company for more than 20 years.

Ron Butler's Early Life
Ron Butler grew up in the Bahamas and the United States. His father, Ronnie Butler, Sr., was a famous calypso singer. Sometimes, Ron performed with his dad when he was a kid. He lived in places like Washington, D.C., Virginia, and near Syracuse, New York.
Ron went to high school in the Bahamas. Later, he graduated from Trinity International University near Chicago, Illinois, in 1985. He earned a degree in History and Economics. Before becoming an actor, Ron worked as a consultant for a law firm in Washington, D.C. While there, he started studying acting and performing in local plays. He also learned from famous acting teachers like David Mamet and William H. Macy.
Ron Butler's Acting Journey
Ron Butler joined the Atlantic Theater Company in New York City in 1991. This was the same year he appeared in the movie Homicide. He performed in many plays with this company. He also sang in a swing band called The Solicitors in Europe for several years.
In 2007, he was in a concert version of the musical South Pacific at the Hollywood Bowl. He played Henry in this show.
