Ronnie G. Brown Jr. (born December 12, 1981) is a former professional football player. He played as a running back in the National Football League (NFL). A running back's main job is to run with the ball and gain yards for their team.
Ronnie went to Cartersville High School in Georgia. After high school, he played college football for the Auburn Tigers at Auburn University. He was a very important player for Auburn. He often shared the ball with another great running back, Cadillac Williams. Ronnie finished his college career with 2,707 rushing yards and 28 rushing touchdowns. This placed him high in Auburn's history books.
In 2005, the Miami Dolphins picked Ronnie Brown as the second overall player in the 2005 NFL draft. He played for the Dolphins for six years. He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, San Diego Chargers, and Houston Texans. In 2008, he was chosen to play in the Pro Bowl, which is a special game for the best players in the NFL.

Early Life and High School Football
Ronnie Brown grew up in Cartersville, Georgia. He went to Cartersville High School. He was a star player on his high school football team. He played as a running back for three years. During his high school career, he ran for an amazing 4,936 yards.
College Football Career
After high school, Ronnie went to Auburn University. He studied communications there. He played for the Auburn Tigers football team from 2000 to 2004. At Auburn, he teamed up with Carnell Williams. Together, they formed a powerful running duo. They were known for their mix of speed and strength.
In 2001, Ronnie played in 10 games. He ran for 330 yards and scored two touchdowns. His best season was in 2002. He ran for a career-high 1,008 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. He also caught nine passes for 166 yards.
In 2004, Ronnie shared playing time with Carnell Williams again. They helped their team have an amazing season. The Auburn Tigers went undefeated with a 13-0 record. Ronnie ran for 913 yards and scored eight touchdowns that year. He also showed he could catch the ball well. He had 34 catches for 313 yards.
By the end of his time at Auburn, Ronnie had played in 47 games. He finished with 2,707 rushing yards. He also scored 28 rushing touchdowns, which is one of the most in Auburn's history.

Playing for the Miami Dolphins
Ronnie started his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins. In his first season (2005), he shared running duties with Ricky Williams. Ronnie had a good rookie year, rushing for 907 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 32 passes for 232 yards.
In 2006, Ronnie became the main running back for the Dolphins. He had a great season, rushing for 1,008 yards. He also had 276 receiving yards and scored five touchdowns. He even had two games where he ran for over 100 yards.
In 2007, Ronnie started strong. He was leading the league in total yards before a knee injury ended his season early. He came back in 2008. He shared carries with Ricky Williams again but still had a strong year. He ran for 916 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. This great performance earned him a spot in the 2009 Pro Bowl.
In 2009, Ronnie played in nine games before a foot injury ended his season. He still managed to rush for 648 yards and eight touchdowns. In 2010, he played in all 16 games, rushing for 734 yards and five touchdowns.
Time with Other Teams
After six years with the Dolphins, Ronnie moved to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011. He signed a one-year contract with them. He was briefly traded to the Detroit Lions, but the trade was canceled.
In 2012, Ronnie signed with the San Diego Chargers. He played an important role there. In a playoff game in 2014, he had a 58-yard touchdown run that helped the Chargers win.
Later in 2014, he briefly played for the Houston Texans. But he was released after a short time. He then returned to the San Diego Chargers for a second time in October 2014.
