However, Campbell got another chance when Gradkowski got injured. In a game against the San Diego Chargers, Campbell played much better. He helped the Raiders win 35–27, ending a long losing streak against the Chargers.
After this, Campbell became the starter again. In Week 7, he led the Raiders to a huge 59–14 win over the Denver Broncos. This was a new record for points scored by the Raiders.
Even though Campbell was benched for some games, the Raiders lost all three games he didn't play in. The team finished the season with an 8–8 record. Campbell had his second-highest quarterback rating that season.
In 2011, Campbell started the first six games. He led Oakland to a 4–2 record before he broke his collarbone. The Raiders then traded for another quarterback, Carson Palmer, to replace him.
