Washington Redskins Years

The Washington Redskins picked Jason Campbell as the 25th player in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft. The Redskins traded up in the draft to get him. He was the third quarterback chosen in that draft.

Campbell did not play in his first year, learning from other quarterbacks. On November 13, 2006, he became the Redskins' starting quarterback. He made his first start on November 19, 2006. Even though his team lost, people praised his calm play.

In 2007, Campbell had a knee injury during a game. It looked bad at first, but he was able to walk off the field. The injury did not need surgery, but he missed the rest of the season.

In 2008, the Redskins started the season with a 6–2 record. Many thought Campbell was becoming a top quarterback. However, the team then lost six of their next eight games, finishing 8–8 and missing the playoffs.

In 2009, Campbell played his last year with the Redskins. The team finished with a 4–12 record, which was one of their worst. The Redskins then traded Campbell to another team.

However, Campbell got another chance when Gradkowski got injured. In a game against the San Diego Chargers, Campbell played much better. He helped the Raiders win 35–27, ending a long losing streak against the Chargers.

After this, Campbell became the starter again. In Week 7, he led the Raiders to a huge 59–14 win over the Denver Broncos. This was a new record for points scored by the Raiders.

Even though Campbell was benched for some games, the Raiders lost all three games he didn't play in. The team finished the season with an 8–8 record. Campbell had his second-highest quarterback rating that season.

In 2011, Campbell started the first six games. He led Oakland to a 4–2 record before he broke his collarbone. The Raiders then traded for another quarterback, Carson Palmer, to replace him.
