Early life and music beginnings
Ronald Joseph Radke was born on December 15, 1983, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was one of three children. Radke is part Blackfoot Indian and Portuguese.
Ronnie learned to play piano and guitar in his first bands. He started by playing songs from the band Blink-182 on his guitar. He formed several bands while he was in high school. Radke even ran away from home to play in his first band, called 3.0. He said it sounded "exactly like Blink 182."
After that band, Radke moved back home and went back to school. However, he soon left school again. He explained that he just couldn't focus. He would daydream about music instead of his schoolwork. His second band was called Lefty. Radke met Max Green at a talent show. They became friends and formed a band called True Story. This band recorded a song called "This Is Not the End." Radke then started singing and screaming in bands, which led to the formation of Escape the Fate.
In 1998, Radke wrote songs like "Listen Up!" and "The Worst Time." In 2001, he recorded these songs with his friend, producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette. They also worked on themes for other songs like "As You're Falling Down," which were recorded in 2005 with Escape the Fate.
Music career
Escape the Fate (2004–2008)
In high school, Radke and Max Green were close friends. In 2004, Bryan Money was looking for a singer. Max suggested Radke. Bryan agreed, and they started looking for a drummer. Robert Ortiz joined, and Escape the Fate was formed. Soon after, Omar Espinosa joined as the rhythm guitarist. The band began playing in the post-hardcore music scene in Las Vegas. Carson Allen also joined as the keyboardist.
The band recorded their first demo, Escape the Fate EP. In early 2006, they signed with Epitaph Records. This happened after they won a radio contest judged by My Chemical Romance. This helped launch their music career.
In May 2006, they started recording for their EP There's No Sympathy for the Dead. They also recorded some songs for their first album, Dying Is Your Latest Fashion. Both were produced by Radke's friend Michael "Elvis" Baskette.
Radke later left Escape the Fate in 2008. He was replaced by former Blessthefall singer Craig Mabbitt. In 2014, Escape the Fate and Falling in Reverse went on a tour together called "Bury the Hatchet." This showed that any past disagreements between them were over.
Falling in Reverse (2008–present)
While he was away from music, Radke started writing songs for a new band. He described the music as a mix of different styles. With the help of Nason Schoeffler, Radke formed Falling in Reverse. The band was first called From Behind these Walls. After his return in December 2010, Radke began recording with the band. Falling In Reverse released their first song, "Raised by Wolves," in 2010.
Falling in Reverse's first two albums reached the top 20 in the United States. All four of their albums have been in the top 40. The band's song "Popular Monster" became a number one hit. It topped Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart in 2020. This was their first song to reach the top spot.
Solo music and Watch Me (2013–present)
On May 31, 2013, Radke started his YouTube channel. He released a solo song called "Fair-Weather Fans." This song was dedicated to people who didn't believe in him. The next day, he released another song called "What Up Earth?".
Radke announced that he was working on a rap mixtape. It was produced by Charles Massabo. The mixtape was planned to feature several well-known rap artists. The first song from the mixtape, "Blacklist," was released on July 5, 2013.
A song called "I Wash Cars" was released online. It featured b.LaY. Radke later stated that any past disagreements with other artists mentioned in the song had been resolved.
In an interview, Radke shared that his rap mixtape would include a different artist on each song. The mixtape, titled Watch Me, was released around Christmas. On Christmas Day, he shared a website where fans could get a new song, "Destiny." The full list of songs was also revealed.
Personal life
Ronnie Radke has one daughter. His older brother, Anthony, passed away in a car accident in 2013.
In late 2018, Radke started a relationship with AEW wrestler Saraya Bevis. They ended their relationship in late 2024.
In December 2022, Radke released a book about his life called I Can Explain. He wrote it with journalist Ryan J. Downey. Radke said he chose the title because he has often been in situations where he needed to explain himself.
In December 2024, Radke was unable to enter the United Kingdom. This caused Falling in Reverse to cancel a planned tour there.
