History of Roopville
Roopville was started in 1881. A man named John K. Roop founded the town. It was named after him. Just a few years later, in 1885, the Georgia General Assembly officially made Roopville a town. This meant it had its own local government.

Roopville is located in the southern part of Carroll County. You can find it by looking at the coordinates 33°27′24″N 85°7′52″W / 33.45667°N 85.13111°W. The town is right along U.S. Route 27. This main road helps people travel to nearby cities.
If you go north on U.S. Route 27, you will reach Carrollton. Carrollton is about 10 miles away. It is also the county seat, which means it's the main city for Carroll County. If you travel south on the same road, you will get to Centralhatchee. This town is about 6 miles away.
