Frances Rose McIver (born October 10, 1988) is an actress from New Zealand. She is well-known for playing Samantha Arondekar in the TV show Ghosts since 2021. She also played Olivia "Liv" Moore in the supernatural comedy-drama series iZombie from 2015 to 2019.
Before that, she was Summer Landsdown, the Yellow Ranger, in Power Rangers RPM in 2009. Many people also know her as Amber Moore from the romantic comedy film A Christmas Prince (2017) and its sequels, The Royal Wedding (2018) and The Royal Baby (2019).
Rose McIver started acting when she was very young. She appeared in New Zealand TV shows like Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. She also had a recurring role as Tinker Bell in the fantasy series Once Upon a Time.
She made her first movie appearance in the film The Piano in 1993. Later, she starred in movies such as The Lovely Bones (2009) and the musical drama Daffodils (2019).

Early life and education
Rose McIver was born in Auckland, New Zealand. She grew up in a place called Titirangi. Her father, John, was a photographer, and her mother, Ann, was an artist.
She has an older brother named Paul McIver, who is a musician and used to be an actor. Rose studied ballet and jazz dance until she was 13 years old.
She went to Avondale College and finished in 2006. She also studied Psychology and Linguistics at the University of Auckland. However, she did not finish her degree there. When she wasn't acting, she worked as a babysitter. She also helped with a company that imported bananas.
Acting career highlights
Rose McIver started acting in commercials when she was only two years old. At age three, she got a small role as an angel in the movie The Piano.
She worked on many New Zealand TV shows. These included fantasy shows like Maddigan's Quest and dramas like Rude Awakenings. She also appeared in TV movies, including two Disney Channel films: Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off (2003) and Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board (2007).
From March to December 2009, Rose played Summer Landsdown, also known as Ranger Yellow, in the TV series Power Rangers RPM. This role was in 32 episodes. She also played a cheerleader named Candice in the comedy series Super City. In 2011, she was in the TV film Tangiwai. In this film, she played Nerissa Love, who was a victim of a real-life train disaster.
Rose also played Tinker Bell in several episodes of the series Once Upon a Time. She was also in the TV film Petals on the Wind.

In 2015, McIver began starring in the CW series iZombie. She played the main character, Olivia "Liv" Moore. The show was very popular and ran for five seasons, ending in 2019.
She also appeared in Peter Jackson's movie The Lovely Bones in 2009. In this film, she played Lindsey Salmon, the younger sister of the main character. She also starred in the film Predicament in 2010.
Rose put her university studies on hold to act in more projects. She was in the indie film Light Years and the sports drama Blinder. In 2018, she filmed the musical movie Daffodils, which came out in 2019.
In 2017, Rose filmed A Christmas Prince for Netflix in Romania. She played Amber Moore, a journalist who falls in love with a prince. She returned for two sequels: A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding in 2018 and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby in 2019.
Since October 2021, Rose McIver has been starring in the CBS comedy show Ghosts. She plays Samantha "Sam" Arondekar, who can see and talk to ghosts.
Personal life
Rose McIver enjoys writing. She likes books by authors such as John Steinbeck and Franz Kafka. She also enjoys doing crossword puzzles and Sudoku.
On January 2, 2023, Rose McIver married Australian artist George Byrne. They had been dating for six years. They welcomed a daughter in 2024.
Rose McIver is also the sister-in-law of actress Rose Byrne.
