Roselms is a small, quiet place in Ohio, United States. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it is a group of homes and businesses that do not have their own local government, like a city or a village. Instead, it is part of a larger area called Washington Township in Paulding County. Roselms is located in the northwestern part of Ohio. You can find it along State Route 114. It is about halfway between the towns of Grover Hill and Mandale. Each of these towns is about 3 miles (5 kilometers) away.
History of Roselms
Roselms has an interesting past. It was once home to its own post office. The post office first opened on January 28, 1878. At that time, it was called "Plumbs Cross Roads." Later, on June 13, 1892, its name was changed to Roselms. The post office stayed open for many years. However, it closed its doors on June 14, 1906. After that, people living in Roselms received their mail through the Grover Hill post office.
Roselms and the 2002 Tornado
On November 10, 2002, a very strong tornado hit Roselms. This tornado was part of a larger weather event called the Veterans Day Weekend Outbreak. The tornado that struck Roselms was an F4 tornado. This means it was extremely powerful. Sadly, two people lost their lives during the storm. Almost every building in Roselms was destroyed. Only one structure was left standing after the tornado passed.
The nearby town of Van Wert had an emergency warning system. This system helped save many lives. Just minutes before the tornado hit, several cars were thrown into a movie theater. This theater had been full of people moments earlier. The warnings helped people get to safety in time.

Roselms has a rich history in two important areas. These are agriculture and the mineral industry. Agriculture means farming, growing crops, and raising animals. The mineral industry involves finding and using natural resources from the ground.
