Early Life and Education
Rubén Aguirre was born on June 15, 1934, in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico.
When he was a teenager, it was hard to find a university to attend in Mexico. So, he moved to Ciudad Juárez to study Agricultural Engineering. This field of study is about using science and technology for farming. While studying, he sometimes worked as a gardener in El Paso, Texas, which is just across the border from Ciudad Juárez.
In Juárez, Rubén discovered he loved working in media. He started as a radio announcer and even commentated on bullfighting events. He was so passionate about radio that he took a break from college to go to Mexico City and get his official radio license.
After getting his license, he returned to Juárez. There, he worked in radio, married his wife Consuelo de los Reyes, and finished his engineering degree. Later, he moved to the city of Monterrey, where his acting career would begin. It was in Monterrey that he met the famous writer and actor Roberto Gómez Bolaños.
