The community is on the right bank of the Menominee River. This river forms part of the border between Wisconsin and Michigan. Rubys Corner is only about 800 feet (240 meters) west of the Wisconsin–Michigan state line.

How Rubys Corner Got Its Name

Rubys Corner is named after a couple, William Ruby and his wife Olive Ruby. William was born in 1868 and passed away in 1927. Olive, whose maiden name was Cole, was born in 1873 and lived until 1964.

The Ruby Family Business

The Ruby family used to own a special kind of farm here. It was a fox farm. They raised foxes for their fur. This farm was located right at the corner where the community is now. That is how the name "Rubys Corner" came to be.
