Rumelange's History
Rumelange became its own separate commune on 25 September 1891. Before that, it was part of the commune of Kayl. The law that made Rumelange a separate area was passed on 27 June 1891.

National Mining Museum

Famous People from Rumelange
Many interesting people have come from Rumelange. Here are a few:
- Batty Weber (1860–1940) was a very important journalist and writer.
- Alfred Kieffer (1904–1987) was a Luxembourgian football player. He even played in the 1924 Summer Olympics.
- Foni Tissen (1909–1975) was a schoolteacher and artist. He was known for his unique, detailed paintings.
- Ernest Toussaint (1908–1942) was a boxer who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He was also a member of the resistance during World War II.
- Emile Kirscht (1913–1994) was a painter from Luxembourg. He helped start a group of abstract artists called the Iconomaques.
- Raymond Vouel (1923–1987) was a Luxembourg politician. He served as the Deputy Prime Minister from 1974 to 1976.
