Runnells is part of the larger Des MoinesWest Des Moines metropolitan area. This means it's connected to the bigger cities nearby. The city even has its own Post Office, which you can find at 112 Brown Street.

History of Runnells

Runnells officially became a city on May 21, 1903. It was named after a person called John S. Runnells. He used to write for a newspaper called the Iowa State Register. He also worked as a private secretary for Governor Samuel Merrill.
