Russell Mayberry's Early Life and TV Career
Russell Mayberry was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on December 22, 1925. After serving as a Navy aviator during World War II, he moved to Chicago. He studied at Northwestern University.
His career in television began in 1947. He directed many well-known shows. These include The Monkees, Bewitched, and I Dream of Jeannie. He also worked on The Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family. Later, he directed episodes of Miami Vice and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Later Work and Final Projects
In 1979, Russell Mayberry directed a movie for Walt Disney Pictures. It was called Unidentified Flying Oddball and starred Dennis Dugan. He also directed several television films. One of these was Sidney Shorr: A Girl's Best Friend.
His last directing job was for an episode of the TV series Pointman. This was in 1995.
