Russell Morgan Davis (born March 28, 1975) is a former American football player. He played as a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). Russell played college football for the North Carolina Tar Heels.
The Chicago Bears picked Russell in the second round of the 1999 NFL draft. He played for the Bears in 1999. After that, he joined the Arizona Cardinals from 2000 to 2005. He also played for the Seattle Seahawks in 2006 and the New York Giants in 2007. With the Giants, Russell won the amazing Super Bowl XLII title!

Russell's Early Life and College Football
Russell Davis grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He went to E. E. Smith High School and finished in 1994. In high school, he was a top player, chosen for the All-State team as a lineman.
After high school, Russell went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He played college football for the Tar Heels from 1995 to 1998. He was a strong player on the defensive line. During his time there, he made 10.5 sacks. He even played alongside other future NFL stars like Greg Ellis and Vonnie Holliday.
Russell had a great freshman year in 1995, making 46 tackles and three sacks. He continued to play well throughout his college career, showing his skills as a defensive tackle.

Chicago Bears (1999)
The Chicago Bears chose Russell Davis in the 1999 NFL Draft. He was the 49th player picked overall. As a rookie in 1999, Russell played in 11 games. He started 8 of those games. He made 13 tackles and 2 sacks for the Bears. His very first NFL sack happened on September 12, 1999, against Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Elvis Grbac.
Arizona Cardinals (2000–2005)
After his time with the Bears, Russell joined the Arizona Cardinals. He played for them from 2000 to 2005. In 2000, he made 30 tackles and forced a fumble.
His first full season playing all 16 games was in 2001. That year, he had his best season with 54 tackles, 2 sacks, and he even deflected a pass. Russell continued to be a key player for the Cardinals, starting all 16 games again in 2002. He kept making important plays for the team.
In 2005, Russell had an injury to his left arm. This meant he had to miss most of the season.
Seattle Seahawks (2006)
In 2006, Russell played for the Seattle Seahawks. He played in 13 games and made 30 tackles. He also had 3 sacks for the Seahawks that season.
