Ruthy's Basketball Journey

College Basketball Highlights

Ruthy Hebard played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks. She was part of a very talented group of new players.

Freshman Year: 2016–2017 Season

As a freshman, Ruthy was a top player for her team. She scored about 15 points and grabbed 8.5 rebounds per game. In one game against UCLA, she scored a season-high 29 points. She was named to the All-Pac-12 Conference team and the Pac-12 All-Freshman team. This was a special achievement, as only 18 players in Pac-12 history had done both in the same year.

Sophomore Year: 2017–2018 Season

Ruthy started almost every game for the Oregon Ducks. She helped her team reach the Elite Eight in the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row. She averaged 17.6 points and 9 rebounds per game. In February 2018, she scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds against Washington. That same month, she set a new NCAA record for making 33 shots in a row without missing. She was again named All-Pac-12.

Junior Year: 2018–2019 Season

In her junior year, Ruthy averaged 16.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. She helped the Ducks reach the NCAA Final Four for the first time ever. She was very accurate with her shots, making 67% of them. This was the second-best shooting percentage in the NCAA. She had two perfect games where she made all her shots. For the third year in a row, she was named to the All-Pac-12 team.

Senior Year: 2019–2020 Season

On January 3, 2020, Ruthy scored 21 points in a game against Colorado. This made her the 12th player in Pac-12 history to score over 2,000 career points. She and Sabrina Ionescu were the only two active Pac-12 players to reach this milestone.
