Ruth Cecilia Hebard (born April 28, 1998) is an American professional basketball player. She played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks. While at West Valley High School in Fairbanks, Alaska, Ruthy was named Gatorade State Player of the Year three times. This was from 2013 to 2015. She was also USA Today Alaska Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016.

College Basketball Highlights
Ruthy Hebard played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks. She was part of a very talented group of new players.
Freshman Year: 2016–2017 Season
As a freshman, Ruthy was a top player for her team. She scored about 15 points and grabbed 8.5 rebounds per game. In one game against UCLA, she scored a season-high 29 points. She was named to the All-Pac-12 Conference team and the Pac-12 All-Freshman team. This was a special achievement, as only 18 players in Pac-12 history had done both in the same year.
Sophomore Year: 2017–2018 Season
Ruthy started almost every game for the Oregon Ducks. She helped her team reach the Elite Eight in the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row. She averaged 17.6 points and 9 rebounds per game. In February 2018, she scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds against Washington. That same month, she set a new NCAA record for making 33 shots in a row without missing. She was again named All-Pac-12.
Junior Year: 2018–2019 Season
In her junior year, Ruthy averaged 16.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. She helped the Ducks reach the NCAA Final Four for the first time ever. She was very accurate with her shots, making 67% of them. This was the second-best shooting percentage in the NCAA. She had two perfect games where she made all her shots. For the third year in a row, she was named to the All-Pac-12 team.
Senior Year: 2019–2020 Season
On January 3, 2020, Ruthy scored 21 points in a game against Colorado. This made her the 12th player in Pac-12 history to score over 2,000 career points. She and Sabrina Ionescu were the only two active Pac-12 players to reach this milestone.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Ruthy Hebard began her professional basketball career.
Playing in the WNBA
In the 2020 WNBA draft, the Chicago Sky team chose Ruthy as the 8th overall pick. This meant she was one of the top players chosen to play in the WNBA.
Ruthy announced she was pregnant and had her baby before the 2023 WNBA season. She was on the Inactive/Pregnancy List at the start of the season. On July 3, 2023, the Chicago Sky added her back to their active team roster.
Playing Overseas
Ruthy also played basketball in other countries during the WNBA off-season.
Playing for Nesibe Aydın
After her first WNBA season, Ruthy joined Nesibe Aydın, a team in Turkey. Her team finished third in their league's regular season. In the playoffs, they lost in the semifinals. Ruthy had a great game against Beşiktaş, scoring 34 points and getting 20 rebounds.
Playing for KSC Szekszárd
In the summer of 2022, Ruthy signed with KSC Szekszárd in Hungary. This team played in Hungary's top league and also in the EuroLeague Women, a major European competition. She left the team in February 2023 for personal reasons.
Ruthy's Life Outside Basketball
Ruthy Hebard was born in Chicago. She is African American. She was adopted by two white parents and grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska. She is the second of three children adopted by John and Dorothy Hebard. Ruthy is a Christian and is part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
