Ryan Justin Steed (born July 21, 1990) is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback, which is a defensive position. Ryan joined the New York Jets in 2012 after college. He played college football at Furman University.

Ryan Steed was born on July 21, 1990, in Charleston, South Carolina. His parents are Ernest Steed and Lisa King. Ryan went to Pinewood Preparatory School in Summerville, South Carolina.
At school, Ryan was a talented athlete. He played both basketball and football. His basketball team was very successful. They won three state championships in the SCISA AAA league. In football, Ryan played many different positions. During his senior year, he was recognized as an "all-region" player. He was also named "Defensive Player of the Game" in a special all-star game between North Carolina and South Carolina.
College Football Career
Ryan Steed played college football for Furman University. He was a standout player there. In 2011, he received a big honor. He was named a 1st team FCS All-American. This award came from both the Associated Press and the American Football Coaches Association.
Ryan was also chosen to play in the 2012 Senior Bowl. This is a game where top college players show their skills. He earned 1st team All-Southern Conference honors three times. He received this award as a sophomore, junior, and senior.

Joining the New York Jets
