Ryan Justin Steed (born July 21, 1990) is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback, which is a defensive position in football. Ryan was signed by the New York Jets in 2012 after not being chosen in the main draft. This is called being an undrafted free agent. He also played college football at Furman University.

Early Life and Sports
Ryan Steed was born on July 21, 1990, in Charleston, South Carolina. His parents are Ernest Steed and Lisa King.
He went to Pinewood Preparatory School in Summerville, South Carolina. There, he was a talented athlete, playing both basketball and football. His basketball team won three state championships in the SCISA AAA league.
In football, Ryan played many different positions. During his senior year, he was recognized as a top player by the Charleston Post and Courier newspaper. He was named to their All-Lowcountry Football second-team. He also earned the "Defensive Player of the Game" award in the special North Carolina-South Carolina Shrine All-Star Classic game.
College Football Career
Ryan Steed played college football for Furman University. He was a standout player there.
In 2011, he received a big honor. He was named a 1st team FCS All-American by both the Associated Press and the American Football Coaches Association. This means he was considered one of the best college players in the country. He was also chosen to play in the 2012 Senior Bowl, a game for top college seniors. Ryan was named 1st team All-Southern Conference for three years in a row: as a sophomore, junior, and senior.
