Saaheem Malik Valdery (born February 24, 1997), known by his stage name SahBabii, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was born in Chicago but grew up in Atlanta, Georgia.

SahBabii is most famous for his 2016 hit song "Pull Up wit ah Stick". The song became so popular that it was certified platinum. This means it sold over one million copies in the United States. In 2017, Billboard magazine named him one of its "Next Big Sound" artists.

Early Life and Name

Saaheem Malik Valdery was born in Chicago, Illinois. He spent his early years in the city's South Side. His aunt, TeeBaby, gave him the nickname "SahBabii" when he was a child.

When he was 13 years old, his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia. They moved to help his older brother, T3, with his music career. This move was a big change for SahBabii and helped start his own journey in music.

Music Career

Getting Started

Soon after moving to Atlanta, SahBabii began making his own music. His brother T3 helped him produce his songs. He released his first two mixtapes, ... Ain't Eazy in 2012 and ... & ... in 2013.

Besides making music, SahBabii also loved video games. He posted videos of himself playing Grand Theft Auto Online on his YouTube channels, "Noᴙmal" and "Normalty."

Rise to Fame

After taking a break from music for a few years, SahBabii released the mixtape S.A.N.D.A.S. in 2016. He recorded it in his brother's bedroom using the music software Cubase and a broken microphone.

One song from the mixtape, "Pull Up wit ah Stick," quickly became a huge hit. Before the song was even released, SahBabii posted a 15-second clip of it on Instagram. The clip went viral, and soon millions of people were listening to the full song on SoundCloud. The music video for the song, released in February 2017, has over 70 million views.

The success of the song led to a big moment for SahBabii. In March 2017, he signed a $2 million record deal with Warner Bros. Records. His family also started their own company, Casting Bait Music Group, and his dad became his manager.

Many famous artists liked "Pull Up wit ah Stick." Young Thug, T-Pain, Fetty Wap, and Wiz Khalifa all made their own versions of the song. Rapper Drake also said he wanted to be on the official remix.

Later Projects

In 2017, SahBabii re-released S.A.N.D.A.S. with improved sound quality and some new songs. After this, he and Warner Bros. Records stopped working together.

He released his next big project, Squidtastic, in 2018. In 2019, he released a shorter project called an EP titled 3P.

In early 2019, SahBabii told his fans he was thinking about retiring from music. However, he changed his mind because of his fans' support. He said, "I couldn't just turn my back on them... I just wanted to make sure I give my fans the most music I can give them before I stop."

On July 8, 2020, SahBabii released the album Barnacles. The album was praised for its unique and dreamy sound. One song, "Purple Umbrella," features a sample from the soundtrack of the video game Chrono Cross.

Recent Work and Collaborations

SahBabii has worked with many other artists. In 2020, he was featured on songs with Trippie Redd, Joji, and Nav. In 2021, he appeared on the track "Solitaires" with Ateyaba.

On October 27, 2021, he released his first official studio album, Do It For Demon. The album is dedicated to his late cousin, Demon, who passed away. This was the first project SahBabii recorded using professional studio equipment.

In late 2022, some of SahBabii's unreleased songs were leaked online. In response, he released a project called LeakOut, which included many of these songs for his fans to enjoy.

In 2023, he released two new singles, "How Bout U?" and "Lost All My Feelings." On November 8, 2024, he released the album Saaheem, which is named after his real first name. In 2025, he went on the Resurrection Tour across North America to perform songs from the album.
