Michael Lamar White IV (born June 18, 1999), known as Trippie Redd, is an American rapper and singer. He became famous for his unique music style. His first mixtape, A Love Letter to You (2017), was a big hit. It featured the song "Love Scars", which sold millions of copies.
In the years that followed, Trippie Redd released many successful albums. His songs like "Dark Knight Dummo" and "Taking a Walk" became very popular. His album A Love Letter to You 4 (2019) even reached number one on the music charts. He has also worked with other famous artists like Travis Scott and Playboi Carti.

Early life and music beginnings
Michael White grew up in Canton, Ohio. He also lived in Columbus, Ohio for some time. He has a younger brother called "Hippie Redd". His older brother, "Dirty Redd", also made music. Sadly, Dirty Redd passed away in a car accident in 2014.
White's interest in music started when he was young. His mother played music by artists like Ashanti and Tupac. As he grew older, he listened to many different types of music. These included rock bands like Nirvana and Green Day. He also enjoyed hip hop artists like Lil Wayne.
He began rapping after being inspired by another rapper, Lil Tae. White started taking his music seriously in 2014. He recorded some early songs, but later removed them. After finishing high school, White moved to Atlanta. There, he met rapper Lil Wop, who helped him get a record deal.

Lil Wop helped Trippie Redd get into a professional recording studio. They worked on several music projects together. Soon, White signed with a record label called Strainge Entertainment. He then moved to Los Angeles to continue his music career.

On May 29, 2019, Trippie Redd released "Under Enemy Arms". This was the first song from his second studio album, !. He also released "Mac 10" with Lil Baby and Lil Duke. The album ! came out on August 9, 2019. It reached number three on the US Billboard 200 chart.
Despite some mixed reviews for !, Trippie Redd released A Love Letter to You 4 in November 2019. This mixtape was a huge success. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. This was his first album to reach the top spot.
In early 2020, Trippie Redd worked on several songs with other artists. He was featured on KSI's song "Wake Up Call". This song reached number 11 on the UK Singles Chart. He also released "Tell Me U Luv Me" with Juice Wrld, which entered the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On May 15, 2020, he released "Excitement" with PartyNextDoor. This was the first song from his third studio album, Pegasus. On his 21st birthday, June 18, he released "Dreamer". Trippie Redd started 2021 by releasing Neon Shark vs Pegasus. This was a rock-style version of his Pegasus album. He then announced his fourth studio album, Trip at Knight.
Before Trip at Knight came out, he released two popular songs. The first was "Miss the Rage" with Playboi Carti. This song reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. It became his highest-charting song ever. The second song was "Holy Smokes" featuring Lil Uzi Vert. Trip at Knight was released on August 20, 2021. It included a song called "Betrayal" with Drake.
In 2023, Trippie Redd released his fifth studio album, Mansion Musik. It reached number 3 on the Billboard 200. His fifth mixtape, A Love Letter to You 5, was released on August 11, 2023.
In late 2023, he released an EP called Saint Michael. An expanded version, Saint Michael V2, came out in November 2023. In March 2024, Trippie Redd announced a new EP with MGK. It was called Genre: Sadboy and was released on March 29, 2024. In October 2024, he also released the song "Thick Of It" with KSI.
Financial success
Trippie Redd has achieved significant financial success in his career. In March 2018, he mentioned that he had earned a lot of money. He even bought his mother a house. In 2022, he signed a large record deal worth $30 million. After this deal, he bought a big mansion in Florida.
