Salamatof is a community in Alaska, United States. Its name in the Dena'ina is Ken Dech’etl’t. It is a special type of place called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the government counts for population, but it's not officially a city or town.
Salamatof is part of the Kenai Peninsula Borough. In 2020, about 1,078 people lived there. This was a bit more than the 980 people counted in 2010.
A long time ago, Salamatof was home to the Wildwood Air Force Station. This was a military base that operated from 1965 to 1972. Before that, it was an Army Station from 1951 to 1965. Today, the area is known as the Wildwood Correctional Complex.

Where is Salamatof Located?
Salamatof is on the western side of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. It is located at coordinates 60.593250 degrees North and -151.310547 degrees West.
The community is found between two other places. To the south, you'll find the city of Kenai. To the north, there is an area called Nikiski. On its western side, Salamatof borders the Cook Inlet, which is a large body of water.
