Salesforce Tower is a super tall office building in San Francisco, California. It used to be called the Transbay Tower. This amazing building has offices, shops, and even places for transport. It stands in the South of Market area of downtown San Francisco.
About Salesforce Tower
The Salesforce Tower is a huge skyscraper. It is about 1,070 feet (326 m) tall. That's like stacking more than 100 basketball hoops on top of each other!
How Tall Is It?
When it was finished in 2018, Salesforce Tower became the tallest building in San Francisco. It is taller than the famous Transamerica Pyramid. The Transamerica Pyramid is about 853 feet (260 m) tall.
Salesforce Tower is also the second-tallest building west of the Mississippi River. Only the Wilshire Grand in Los Angeles is taller. That building is about 1,100 feet (335 m) tall.
A Special Award
On April 10, 2019, the Salesforce Tower won a big award. The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) named it the "Best Tall Building in the World." This award was given out at a special event in China.
