Salisbury is a small town, also called a borough, located in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. In 2020, about 707 people lived there. It is part of the larger Johnstown, Pennsylvania, area.
History of Salisbury
Salisbury was first planned out in 1794 by a person named Joseph Markley. Douglas Baker helped by surveying the land. The very first house was built by Peter Shirer and Martin Weimer. Peter Shirer was also the first person to open a store in the town.
More land was added to the town over the years. Peter Shirer and Peter Welfley added more lots around 1814. Later, John Smith added more land around 1850. The Beachy family also added more land in 1870. The town was officially made a borough in 1862. It was located on an old road called the Turkey Foot Road.
In 1998, Salisbury experienced two strong tornadoes. These tornadoes happened on May 31 and June 2. The tornado on May 31 caused one person to pass away and injured 15 others. The tornado on June 2 became even stronger when it moved into Allegany County, Maryland.

Salisbury is located at 39°45′5″N 79°4′59″W / 39.75139°N 79.08306°W. It covers an area of about 0.4 square miles (0.99 square kilometers). All of this area is land. The town is completely surrounded by Elk Lick Township.
