The Story of Salix
Salix got its name from the willow trees that grew nearby. The scientific name for willow trees is salix. A post office opened in Salix way back in 1874, helping people send and receive mail.
Where is Salix?
Salix is located at 42°18′28″N 96°17′14″W / 42.30778°N 96.28722°W. It sits on the flat land next to the Missouri River, which is called a floodplain. This area is close to Interstate 29, a major highway.
There are also some cool parks nearby. You can visit Brown's Lake/Bigelow County Park and Snyder Bend County Park for outdoor fun.
