Samuel Lee Gash Jr. (born March 7, 1969) is a former American football player. He played as a fullback in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Playing in the NFL

Sam Gash was chosen by the New England Patriots in the eighth round of the 1992 NFL draft. The NFL draft is where professional teams pick new players from college. He played for the Patriots from 1992 to 1997.

Sam Gash was chosen for the Pro Bowl twice. The Pro Bowl is an all-star game for the best players in the NFL. In 1999, he made history by being the first fullback to be selected for the Pro Bowl without carrying the ball even once during the regular season. This shows how important his blocking skills were.
