Samuel Lee Gash Jr. (born March 7, 1969) is a former American football player. He played as a fullback in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Playing in the NFL
Sam Gash was chosen by the New England Patriots in the eighth round of the 1992 NFL draft. The NFL draft is where professional teams pick new players from college. He played for the Patriots from 1992 to 1997.

- In 2008, he became the main running backs coach for the Detroit Lions. He stayed in this role until December 31, 2012.
Later Coaching Roles
On February 10, 2014, Sam Gash was announced as the running backs coach for the Green Bay Packers. He coached for the Packers for two seasons. On January 19, 2016, his time with the Packers ended.

- His younger brother, Eric Gash, played outside linebacker at the University of North Carolina. In 2014, Eric became the head coach at their old high school, Hendersonville High School.
- Sam and Eric have a cousin named Thane Gash. Thane played safety in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers.
- Sam's son, Isaiah, played college football for the Michigan Wolverines.
- Another son, Elijah, played college lacrosse for the Albany Great Danes. He was drafted into the Premier Lacrosse League in 2023. He was also drafted into the National Lacrosse League in 2023.
