San Bernardino (also called San Ber) is a fun town in Paraguay. It sits right on the beautiful Ypacarai Lake in the Cordillera Department. Many people from Greater Asunción love to visit San Bernardino for holidays. It's a very popular place to relax and have fun!

History of San Bernardino

This town was started in 1881 by people who moved there from Germany and Switzerland. One important person was Santiago Schaerer. He helped set up the new community. The town was named after Saint Bernard. This was done to honor Bernardino Caballero, who was the president of Paraguay from 1880 to 1886.
