The San Chiang tree frog (Hyla sanchiangensis) is a type of frog that lives in China. People sometimes call it the Sanchiang tree toad.

This special frog was first described by scientists in 1929. It is known for its unique green color.
Where It Lives
Scientists have found the San Chiang tree frog in several parts of southern China. It lives in places like Anhui Province, Zheijiang Province, Fujian Province, Guangdong Province, Hunan Province, and Guizhou Province. These frogs prefer to live in areas that are high up. They have been seen between 500 and 1,560 meters (about 1,640 to 5,118 feet) above sea level.
What It Looks Like
The San Chiang tree frog has a bright green body. Its belly is a lighter color, often pale. You can spot black dots on its sides and legs. A distinct black stripe runs from its nose, over its eye and eardrum, and down its side. This frog also has special teeth, called vomerine teeth, in its upper jaw.
