San Pablo Peninsula is a piece of land that sticks out into the water in western Richmond. It sits between two bays, San Pablo Bay and San Rafael Bay, in the southwestern part of Contra Costa County, California.
Geography of San Pablo Peninsula
This peninsula is located between an area called Castro Cove and a point known as Point San Pablo. The land here is mostly covered by the Potrero Hills. These are steep hills that run along the entire peninsula.
Most of the San Pablo Peninsula is owned by a company called Chevron. They use the land to help keep their nearby refinery safe. This means the area acts as a buffer zone for their operations.
