Sand Bay is a small place in Wisconsin, United States. It is not a city or a town with its own government. Instead, it is called an unincorporated community. This means it is part of a larger area, the town of Russell, in Bayfield County.
Sand Bay is special because it is located inside the Red Cliff Indian Reservation. This reservation belongs to the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, a Native American tribe.
Where is Sand Bay?
Sand Bay sits right on the southern shore of a very big lake, Lake Superior. It is about 14 miles (23 km) north-northwest of the city of Bayfield. Another city, Ashland, is about 37 miles (60 km) north-northwest of Sand Bay.
