Sandi Morris (born July 8, 1992) is an amazing American pole vault athlete. She holds the American record in this exciting sport. Sandi won a silver medal in the pole vault at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

She also earned silver medals at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics and the 2019 World Championships in Athletics. In 2018, she won a gold medal at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Sandi has jumped incredibly high, setting a personal best of 4.95 m (16 ft 3 in) indoors. She even cleared 5.00 m (16 ft 5 in) outdoors, setting a new U.S. record!

Sandi Morris: Pole Vault Star

Sandi Morris is known for her incredible talent in pole vaulting. This sport combines speed, strength, and gymnastics. Athletes run down a track, plant a long, flexible pole, and use it to launch themselves over a high bar.

Early Life and School Days

Sandi was born on July 8, 1992. She grew up loving sports. In high school, she attended Greenville High School. She was not only a record-setting pole vaulter but also a great volleyball player.

Sandi won the South Carolina High School League 3A state pole vault titles in both 2009 and 2010. In 2010, she won gold at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships. Her amazing high school career led to her being inducted into the Greenville County Schools Hall of Fame in 2021.

College Athletics

After high school, Sandi continued her pole vault journey in college. She first competed for the North Carolina Tar Heels. Later, she transferred to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

While at Arkansas, Sandi became a top college athlete. In 2015, she won the NCAA indoor championship. She set a new NCAA record by clearing 4.60 m (15 ft 1 in). She also won the SEC indoor and outdoor championships that year.

Becoming a Pro Athlete

Sandi became a professional athlete in 2015. She quickly started winning big competitions. She represents the United States in international events.

She has competed in many major championships around the world. These include the Olympic Games and the World Athletics Championships. She has consistently been one of the best pole vaulters globally.
