Sankt Veit in Defereggen is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the beautiful Defereggen Valley. It's part of the Lienz area in Tyrol, a state in Austria. The name "Sankt Veit" means "Saint Vitus," and "Defereggen" refers to the valley where it sits.

Location and Elevation
Sankt Veit is found in the middle of the Defereggen Valley. It is the highest town in Eastern Tyrol. This means it sits at a very high point above sea level.
Valley Life
The town is on the sunny side of the valley. In the past, farmers here grew crops like grain and potatoes. Even though it's a sunny spot, it can sometimes snow during the summer months!
