The Lienz District is a special area in Tyrol, Austria. It's the only district in a part of Tyrol called East Tyrol. This district shares its borders with different places. To the north, it's next to the Pinzgau area in Salzburg. To the east, it borders the Spittal an der Drau and Hermagor districts, both in Carinthia. If you go south, you'll find Veneto in Italy, and to the west, it touches South Tyrol, which is also in Italy.

The Lienz District covers an area of about 2,016 square kilometers (778 square miles). In 2019, around 48,753 people lived there. The main town and administrative center of the district is Lienz.
