The Commune of Santiago is a central area in Chile. It is part of the Santiago Province and is located in the middle of the Santiago Metropolitan Region. People often call it Stgo. or "Santiago Centro" (Central Santiago).

This helps tell it apart from Greater Santiago. Greater Santiago is a much larger area that includes Santiago Commune and 36 other communes.
