Satyadev Narayan Arya (born on July 1, 1939) is an important Indian politician. He has served as the Governor of two different states: Tripura and Haryana. A Governor is like the head of a state, representing the President of India. Mr. Arya is also a well-known leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is a major political party in India. Before becoming a Governor, he was a Minister in the state of Bihar, looking after departments like Mines and Geology. He was also elected eight times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Rajgir area in Bihar. An MLA helps make laws for their state.

Early Life and Education
Satyadev Narayan Arya was born on July 1, 1939. His birthplace was Gandhi Tola in Rajgir, which is in the Nalanda district of Bihar. At that time, Bihar was part of British India. His parents were Shivan Prasad and Sundari Devi.
Mr. Arya studied hard and earned two important degrees from Patna University. He received his Masters of Arts (MA) degree, which means he studied a subject like history or political science in depth. He also earned an LLB degree, which is a law degree. This education helped him understand how laws are made and how the government works.
Family Life
Satyadev Narayan Arya is married to Saraswati Devi. Together, they have a large family with five children. They have three sons and two daughters.

Working for the BJP
From 1988 to 1998, Mr. Arya was the President of the SC Cell BJP, Bihar. This means he led a special group within the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar that focused on issues important to the Scheduled Castes. He also served as the Treasurer for the All India Schedule Caste Front, helping manage their money.
Serving as an MLA
Mr. Arya was elected as a Member of the Bihar Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) from the Rajgir area eight times. This shows how much trust the people of Rajgir placed in him. As an MLA, he worked to represent his community and help make important decisions for the state of Bihar.
Ministerial Roles
Throughout his career, Mr. Arya also held important positions as a Minister. From 1979 to 1980, he was the Minister of Rural Development. In this role, he would have worked on projects to improve life in villages. Later, in 2010, he became the Minister of Mines & Geology, overseeing the state's natural resources.
Governor of States
One of the highest positions Mr. Arya held was Governor. He served as the 17th Governor of Haryana and later as the 19th Governor of Tripura. As Governor, he acted as the head of the state government, making sure that laws were followed and that the state ran smoothly.
