The Saving Mr. Banks: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is a special music collection. It features all the songs and background music from the 2013 movie Saving Mr. Banks. This music was created and put together by a famous American film composer named Thomas Newman.
This album has twenty-five pieces of music that Thomas Newman wrote for the movie. It also includes four songs that were re-recorded by the movie's actors. These songs were originally written by the talented Sherman Brothers, Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. You'll also find two other songs on the album: "One Mint Julep" and "Heigh-Ho".
Walt Disney Records released two versions of this soundtrack on December 10, 2013. There was a single-disc version and a special two-disc "deluxe edition." The deluxe edition had extra cool stuff. It included original demo recordings by the Sherman Brothers. Demos are early versions of songs. It also had some selected songs from the classic movie Mary Poppins.
Thomas Newman's music for the film was highly praised by critics. It even received nominations for several big awards. These included the Academy Award, BAFTA, Grammy Award, and Critics' Choice Award.
