Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare is an animated mystery film from 2010. It is based on the popular Scooby-Doo cartoon series. The movie was released directly to DVD on September 14, 2010. It was the 15th Scooby-Doo film made for home video. The movie sold over 53,000 copies in its first week. By January 2013, it had sold about 194,000 copies.

Story of Camp Scare

Scooby-Doo and his friends, the Mystery Inc. gang, plan a fun trip. They go to Camp Little Moose, which was Fred's old summer camp. They plan to be camp counselors there.

Arrival at Camp Little Moose

When they arrive, the camp is almost empty. Only Burt, the head counselor, and Ranger Knudsen are there. They learn that an old camp legend, the Woodsman, has come to life. The Woodsman is a scary figure from the camp's past. He has scared all the kids away. Ranger Knudsen suggests closing the camp. But then, three kids named Luke, Trudy, and Deacon arrive. Fred convinces Burt to keep the camp open. The Mystery Inc. gang decides to solve the mystery. Soon after, the Woodsman attacks the gang and the kids.

Mysteries at Big Moose Lake

The next day, everyone goes to Big Moose Lake. This lake is home to a modern camp called Camp Big Moose. While they are enjoying the lake, another monster appears. This monster is the Fishman, another old camp legend. During the chase, Scooby-Doo finds a building hidden at the bottom of the lake.

That night, Jessica, the head counselor from Camp Big Moose, talks to the gang. She asks if Camp Little Moose is playing a trick. She explains that an RV and some sonar equipment are missing from her camp. The gang wonders why the Woodsman or Fishman would need this equipment. Velma uses the RV's tracking device. It leads them to Shadow Canyon. Burt explains that the Spectre, another camp legend, lives in Shadow Canyon.

Splitting Up to Investigate

The group splits up to investigate. Fred, Daphne, Jessica, and Luke go to the building under Big Moose Lake. They are chased by the Fishman. They discover a whole town underwater. They also find some dynamite hidden in a cave.

Meanwhile, Velma, Shaggy, Scooby, Burt, Trudy, and Deacon head to Shadow Canyon. They find the missing RV and sonar equipment. The sonar equipment is being used to scan the lake. Then, the Spectre chases them away.

Putting the Clues Together

Everyone meets back at Camp Little Moose. Deacon decides he wants to go back to Camp Big Moose. Jessica drives him there. The Mystery Inc. gang decides to ask a local shop owner about the underwater town. The shop owner explains it was a mining town called Moose Creek. It was flooded to create the dam and Big Moose Lake.

More importantly, a famous gangster named Ricky LaRue hid treasure there. Before he died, he told his cellmate, Babyface Boretti, about it. The treasure's location would be revealed when the sun hit the town steeple on the Summer Solstice. Babyface Boretti had escaped from prison two months earlier. The gang realizes that the dynamite will be used to destroy the dam. This would reveal Moose Creek so the monsters can find the treasure. The next day is the Summer Solstice. But destroying the dam would also flood Camp Little Moose.

The Dam Explodes

The gang returns to Camp Little Moose. They find that the Woodsman has destroyed the camp. Luckily, Burt, Luke, and Trudy are safe. The gang realizes that if the Woodsman found the camp empty, he would be free to destroy the dam. Suddenly, the dam explodes! Everyone narrowly escapes the flood.

Unmasking the Villains

The gang goes to Moose Creek, which is now exposed. They find Jessica there, who says she was following Deacon. Then, the Woodsman attacks them. He chases Fred, Jessica, and Luke. The rest of the gang is found by Deacon. Deacon locks them up and reveals that he is actually Babyface Boretti! He is looking for the treasure.

The Woodsman chases Fred and the others up the bell tower. But the Woodsman is knocked out of the window. The Fishman appears next. Scooby knocks the Fishman through a wall with the Mystery Machine. The gang unmasks the Fishman. It turns out to be Ranger Knudsen! He was pretending to be the Woodsman, the Fishman, and the Spectre. The gang also captures Babyface Boretti, who tries to escape with the treasure.

Velma explains that Boretti and Knudsen worked together. They wanted to scare away the kids from Camp Little Moose. Then they planned to explode the dam and take the treasure. When the Mystery gang arrived, Boretti pretended to be Deacon. He tried to convince everyone to leave. The two villains used the sonar equipment to find the town under the lake. They used the monster disguises to scare everyone away. They also figured out that the Spectre used a zipline to fly through the canyon.

In the end, Boretti and Knudsen are arrested. Burt and Jessica combine the two camps. They form Camp Little Big Moose at Moose Creek. The Mystery Inc. gang spends the rest of the summer as camp counselors. In a scene after the credits, it is shown that the real Spectre is still haunting the camp. It was not a disguise after all!
