Scott Glenndale Martin King was born on June 25, 1967, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. He is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender. Scott played in two games for the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was chosen by the Red Wings in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft.

Scott King earned several awards during his hockey career. These awards show he was a talented player.
- He was named to the BCJHL Coastal Division First All-Star Team in 1985. This means he was one of the best players in his league that year.
- He was also named to the Hockey East First All-Star Team in 1988 and 1990.
- In 1989, he made the Hockey East Second All-Star Team.
- He was part of the ECHL Second All-Star Team in 1993.
- Scott helped his team, the Toledo Storm, win the Riley Cup in 1993. Winning a cup is a big achievement in hockey!

Scott King played for several teams in different hockey leagues. He started his career in junior leagues. Then he moved on to play college hockey.
He played for the Maine Black Bears in the Hockey East league. After college, he joined professional teams. He played for the Adirondack Red Wings in the American Hockey League (AHL). He also played for the Hampton Roads Admirals and Toledo Storm in the ECHL.
Scott's biggest dream was to play in the NHL. He achieved this when he played two games for the Detroit Red Wings. Even though it was a short time, playing in the NHL is a huge accomplishment for any hockey player. He retired from professional hockey in 1993.
