Scott Van Pelt (born 1966/1967) is a well-known American sportscaster. He is also a sports talk show host. Scott works for ESPN, a popular sports network.
He is famous for being a long-time anchor of SportsCenter. This is one of ESPN's main sports news shows. He also co-hosted SVP & Russillo on ESPN Radio. Scott covers many big golf events for ESPN. In 2023, he became the host of Monday Night Countdown for the NFL season.

Early Life and School
Scott Van Pelt was born in Brookeville, Maryland. He grew up near Washington, D.C.. He went to Flower Valley Elementary School. Later, he graduated from Sherwood High School.
In 1988, he finished college at the University of Maryland. He studied radio, television, and film there.
Scott Van Pelt's Career
Scott started his career in sportscasting in 1990. He worked at WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C.. This was a local FOX TV station.
Working at Golf Channel
From 1995 to 2000, Scott worked for the Golf Channel. He was a studio host for their main shows. He learned a lot about golf broadcasting there.
Joining ESPN
In 2001, Scott joined ESPN. He became a SportsCenter anchor. He is also one of ESPN's top golf reporters. He covers big tournaments like the Masters Tournament. He also reported on The Open Championship.

Scott Van Pelt is married to his wife, Stephanie. They have three children together. His grandfather, Lorenzo, came to the U.S. from Italy. He lived in Brooklyn.
