Scott Young is a former professional ice hockey player. He was a defenceman, which means he played a defensive role on the ice. Scott was born in Canada but also has British citizenship. He played ice hockey for many years, from 1989 until 2006.

Scott Young's Hockey Journey

Scott Young started his professional ice hockey career in 1989. He played for several teams in North America. These included the New Haven Nighthawks in the American Hockey League (AHL). He also played for the San Diego Gulls and Phoenix Roadrunners in the International Hockey League (IHL). Scott also spent some time with the Knoxville Cherokees in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

Playing in Europe

After playing in North America, Scott moved to Europe in 1991. He played for two years in The Netherlands with the Heerenveen Flyers. In 1993, he moved to the United Kingdom. He spent the next ten seasons playing ice hockey there.

Success with Ayr Scottish Eagles

A big part of Scott's career in the UK was his five years with the Ayr Scottish Eagles. This team played in the Ice Hockey Superleague (BISL). In 1998, his team won the BISL Championship. This was a major achievement for the Eagles. That same year, Scott was also chosen for the BISL First All-Star Team. This meant he was one of the best players in the league.

Playing for Great Britain

Scott Young also had the honor of playing for the Great Britain national team. This allowed him to represent the country in international ice hockey games.
