Sean Pertwee (born on June 4, 1964) is an English actor, narrator, and producer. He has appeared in many movies and TV shows. Some of his well-known roles include Sergeant Wells in the movie Dog Soldiers and Alfred Pennyworth in the TV series Gotham. He has also lent his voice to video games and documentaries.

Early Life and Family
Sean Pertwee was born in Hammersmith, London, England. His father was the famous actor Jon Pertwee, who played the Third Doctor in the TV show Doctor Who. Sean's mother was Ingeborg Rhoesa. His grandfather, Roland Pertwee, was also a writer.
Sean went to school in Teddington and Sunbury. He later studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He finished his studies there in 1986.
Acting Career
Sean Pertwee has had a long and busy career in acting. He has worked in theatre, television, and films.
Theatre Performances
After finishing acting school, Sean joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. He toured with them for three years. During this time, he acted in plays like Titus Andronicus and The New Inn.
TV Shows and Movies
Sean Pertwee has been in many popular TV shows and movies. In 1992, he starred in Leon the Pig Farmer. He also appeared in the TV series Cadfael in 1994.
In 1997, he was in the space science fiction horror film Event Horizon. The next year, he acted alongside Kurt Russell in the science fiction action film Soldier.
Sean played Brutus in the 1999 film Cleopatra. He also helped start a film production company called Natural Nylon. He starred in the movie Love, Honour and Obey (2000) with other actors from his company.
He is well-known for his role as Sergeant Harry G. Wells in the 2002 werewolf film Dog Soldiers. In 2014, Sean was cast in the TV series Gotham. In this show, he played Alfred Pennyworth. Alfred is a former soldier who becomes the loyal butler and mentor to young Bruce Wayne, who later becomes Batman.
More recently, in 2024, Sean played Detective Inspector John Flynn in the TV series Silent Witness. He also appeared as a late-night disc jockey in the mini-series The Night Caller.
Voice Acting Work
Sean Pertwee's voice is often heard in many places. He has narrated TV commercials, documentaries, and video games. He was the narrator for the computer game Medieval: Total War. He also voiced characters in futuristic war games like Killzone and Killzone 2.
He has narrated Masterchef: The Professionals since its fourth series. In 2010, he voiced Brother Proteus in the animated film Ultramarines: The Movie. Sean has also performed in radio plays for BBC Radio 4.
Personal Life
Sean Pertwee married Jacqueline Jane Hamilton-Smith, a make-up artist, on June 12, 1999. They had twins in 2001, but sadly, one of their children passed away shortly after birth.
Political Involvement
Sean Pertwee has shown his support for the Labour Party in the UK. He presented a television broadcast for them during the 2010 UK general election.
