Selby is a small city located in Walworth County, South Dakota, in the United States. In 2020, about 610 people lived there. Selby is also the main town, or county seat, for Walworth County. This means it's where the county government offices are.

History of Selby
Selby started to grow quickly when the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad arrived in the area in 1899. The town was named after an important person who worked for the railroad company.
